Hey Kitty, make sure you don’t bring in the beddings because Oppenheimer lost its position just behind Barbie on the charts in the United States box office. Don’t worry though, it was a really close call, so Oppie and his crew might bounce back next week, especially if people take a look at the reviews for Meg 2, the movie that took its place.

Barbie, on the other hand, is reigning at the top once again, raking in a whopping $53 million. This brings its domestic earnings to $459 million and its worldwide box office collection over $1 billion. Talk about a record-breaking achievement – it’s the first ever movie directed solely by a woman to reach this milestone.

The rest of the top four spots were fiercely contended. Meg 2 made its debut with $30 million, while Oppenheimer managed to bring in $28.7 million (bringing its total earnings in the U.S. to $228 million). Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem also entered the competition with an opening of $28 million.

Now, we’re not discussing a top five because Disney’s Haunted Mansion had a rough second week, experiencing a sharp drop of over 60 percent and earning only $8.9 million. It now sits at a total of $42 million.

Let’s move on to the bottom five. Starting with Sound Of Freedom, which is currently facing some challenges due to its crowdfunding background. Mission: Impossible—Dead Reckoning Part One faced some difficulties as well because of its close release dates with Oppenheimer and Barbie. Talk To Me, Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny, and Elemental complete the list.

Lastly, after an impressive run of 10 weeks, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse bids us farewell as it slips to the 13th position. It managed to bank almost $400 million domestically and twice that internationally.
